ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Junior Sous Chef at our beautiful Café, Daylesford Brompton Cross, you will execute all dishes as per menu specs. Ideally, you’ll have worked in similar fresh food, and restaurant environments or you’ll simply have a passion for good food so that the basics come easily to you.
The role will require bags of stamina and you’ll enjoy the fast pace of working in our kitchens. Your natural confidence will enable you to give calm and clear instructions during busy periods. You’ll be very organised and able to seamlessly coordinate your station.
SALARY: £15.12 Per hour
HOURS: Full time 48H
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute all dishes in accordance with menu specifications
- Support the Sous Chef in delivering creative, seasonal specials that reflect the brand and highlight produce from the farm
- Adhere to kitchen audit requirements and maintain high standards of compliance
- Contribute to a safe and well-organised workplace by supporting health and safety protocols
- Follow the cleaning rota consistently to maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all areas
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is fully operational, well-maintained, and that any issues are reported and resolved promptly
- Maintain full awareness of stock levels and communicate any shortages to the Sous Chef or Head Chef
- Assist in effective stock management and kitchen ordering to ensure full availability, minimal waste, and delivery of budgeted gross profit
- Understand and contribute to achieving targeted payroll percentages through efficient resource use
- Support the training and development of junior chefs through mentorship and hands-on guidance
- Set an example for the kitchen team by demonstrating professionalism, strong work ethic, and commitment to service quality
- Drive meaningful social and environmental improvements by supporting our B Corp values and sustainability goals
- Inspire and empower colleagues, customers, and partners to live and work more consciously, creating a lasting positive impact

- Strong culinary ability across all sections: Confident in executing high-quality dishes consistently, with a thorough understanding of cooking techniques and presentation standards in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
