ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Wine Specialist for our new wine shop at our Daylesford Store in Notting Hill. Introducing a curated collection of sustainable and small-batch bottles made by true artisans working in harmony with nature, each rooted in their unique terroir made to be shared with good food and good company.
We’re searching for more than just a wine lover we’re looking for an extraordinary host. Someone who brings warmth, charisma, and deep knowledge. You won’t just serve wine; you create memorable experiences, guiding customers on a journey.
Fulltime 40 Hours, evenings and weekends.
Salary £37,000 - £43,000 plus tronc
RESPONSIBILITIE
- Providing first class customer service, always going over and above to create moments of delight for our customers, with the upmost passion and professionalism.
- Showcasing a deep, genuine understanding of our carefully curated range of wines.
- Work closely with the store team to drive business growth through customer loyalty and repeat sales.
- Driving sales initiatives including tastings, and special events, sharing your expertise with customers and enhancing their appreciation of wine.
- Stock management process in maintaining an accurate wine inventory, ordering and ensure appropriate storage conditions to preserve the integrity of our collection.
- Team development; leading and developing the team to maximise sales.
- Responsible for the financial performance of the wine shop, including revenue generation, cost control, and profitability.
- Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies to ensure we are operating ethically and responsibly
- Bring our purpose to life by driving meaningful social and environmental improvements, contributing to our journey as a B Corp, and aligning with our sustainability vision.
- Inspire and empower our customers, suppliers, and partners to live and work more consciously, creating a lasting positive impact on the world.
SKILLS YOU WILL BRING
- We are looking for someone with a true passion for wine who loves telling our story.
- Prior experience within the wine industry, whether from a retail or sommelier background
- Have technical knowledge about wines, preferably WSET Level 2 or 3 or similar qualification.
- Awareness of the key principles and processes involved in the storage and service of wine, and in the pairing of food and wines.
- Always aiming to exceed the expectations of our guests by anticipating their needs to provide a pro-active service.
- Proven success in achieving sales targets.
- Have great organisational skills to keep the shop floor running smoothly.
- Be collaborative in your nature, and thrive as part of a team, building relationships with colleagues and customers alike.
- To enjoy yourself at work in order to create a happy work environment.
- Great communicator and ability to work with other leaders within the business.
