ABOUT THE ROLE
The Bamford Collection is looking for a strategic Group Purchasing Manager with a passion for sustainable sourcing and operational excellence. Responsible for overseeing the procurement of all non-stock products and services across the collection including retail, wellness and hospitality. Building strong supplier relationships, optimising cost efficiency, and ensuring best-in-class procurement practices.
The role involves working closely across all functions to develop purchasing strategies for key spend categories and meeting business expectations for supplier performance with respect to quality, cost, delivery and compliance.
Based at our finance office in Kingham, Oxfordshire, this role is full time, 40 hours per week, salary £50,000 - £60,000 per annum.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
- Own the Group’s procurement policies and procedures, advising key internal and external stakeholders and ensuring that purchasing policies are adhered to.
- Identify cost saving opportunities throughout the procurement chain and implement processes to drive ongoing cost improvement.
- Implement change control processes and robust new supplier take-on procedures including legal entity checks, financial appraisal, quality checks and relevant approvals, certification and policies.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) covering purchasing performance.
SKILLS YOU WILL BRING
- Proven experience in supplier performance management with the ability to oversee Quality, Cost, and Risk to ensure optimal supplier performance.
- Strong financial acumen - budgeting, planning, and reporting skills, with a track record of delivering cost reductions.
- Extensive experience in negotiation techniques to secure competitive agreements.
- Conflict Resolution - Ability to manage disputes effectively while maintaining productive relationships.
- Purchasing expertise - relevant experience in procurement within a comparable business environment.
- Education & Qualifications; Degree-level qualification; CIPS certification preferred.
- Interpersonal & Communication Skills - strong ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Analytical & Detail-Oriented - Highly skilled in data analysis, strategic decision-making, and maintaining accuracy in procurement processes.
- Organisational excellence - structured and process-driven, ensuring efficiency in workload management.
- The ability to work independently, take initiative, and see projects through to completion.
