ABOUT THE ROLE
Do you love solving problems, spotting patterns, and making data work harder?
We’re looking for a Systems Developer who enjoys thinking logically, working with data, and building clever solutions that can make complex processes run smoothly within our ERP and integrated or secondary systems. You’ll use your skills in SQL, Excel, and VBA to automate tasks, improve data accuracy, and help our teams make smarter, faster decisions.
You’ll work closely with supply chain, technical, and commercial teams in a fast-moving retail environment, to develop solutions that ensure data accuracy, automate key operational tasks, and improve reporting. It’s a role where curiosity, structured reasoning, and technical know-how come together to make a real difference.
Based at our Daylesford Farm office in the Cotswolds, this role is full time, 40 hours per week.
Salary up to £45,000 per annum.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, debug and deploy complex SQL stored procedures to enhance and improve supply chain processes by accurate data manipulation.
- Provide analytical support to retail, e-commerce and wholesale operations for actionable views of sales, inventory management, and demand planning using SQL, VBA and Excel.
- Monitor data quality and system performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues across databases, EPOS and integrations.
- Coordinate and manage technically driven processes (e.g. stocktakes, financial reconciliations).
- Maintain and develop MSSQL server database and data integration tools (e.g. SSIS) to ensure accurate and timely data flow across platforms.
- Respond to technical service desk tickets, providing timely and accurate resolutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, troubleshoot, and develop efficient, scalable solutions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
SKILLS YOU WILL BRING
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including writing queries with CTEs and window functions, and managing data pipelines (e.g. SSIS).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VBA.
- Experience applying data, logic, or code to solve real-world challenges.
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or another numerate or technical subject.
- Experience in retail or supply chain is a bonus but not essential – a passion for analytical problem-solving matters more.
- Naturally analytical with strong deductive reasoning skills - you like to understand how things work and why.
- A creative problem solver who enjoys untangling complex systems and finding smarter ways to do things.
- Curious, self-motivated, and eager to learn new tools and techniques.
- Confident communicating technical ideas to non-technical people.
- A collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-moving environment and takes pride in delivering reliable, efficient solutions.
