ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Product Lead supporting our Wholesale team, you will play a crucial role in shaping and curating our offering, ensuring it aligns with the Bamford Collection’s commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation.
You will be responsible for sourcing premium, organic food and beverage range from trusted suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and overseeing product development. You’ll work closely with the wider team, acting as the conduit, bringing together farming, suppliers, and the wholesale customer proposition whilst ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, taste, and ethical sourcing.
This role will be based at the Daylesford Farm office in Gloucestershire, 5 days in the office, 40 hours per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Sourcing & Range Strategy
Lead the sourcing and development of our food and drink range for wholesale partners, working closely with our farms and trusted suppliers while identifying and onboarding new strategic partners. Ensure all products reflect our uncompromising standards of organic integrity, quality, sustainability, and traceability.
Product Development & Innovation
Curate and evolve core, seasonal, and exclusive ranges that meet the needs of our wholesale customers, balancing innovation with commercial performance.Quality & Compliance
Safeguard the exceptional quality, taste, and provenance of our products by collaborating with our technical teams to maintain rigorous quality assurance processes and full compliance with organic certification and food safety standards.Commercial Performance
Drive sales growth and margin improvement across all categories without compromising our values. Monitor market trends, identify cost efficiencies, and negotiate effectively with suppliers to maintain a premium yet commercially sustainable offering.Sustainability & Ethical Standards
Champion our commitment to environmental stewardship, animal welfare, and fair trade by ensuring all sourcing aligns with our sustainability principles.Stock, Forecasting & Waste Reduction
Oversee inventory planning and forecasting to optimise availability, minimise waste, and ensure product freshness, maintaining close communication with farms, suppliers, and wholesale teams.Customer & Brand Engagement
Partner with Sales and Marketing to ensure the range resonates with wholesale customers, creating compelling stories around provenance, sustainability, and craftsmanship.Reporting & Insight
Provide clear reporting on performance, trends, and opportunities, using data-driven insights to continuously refine and strengthen the range.
SKIILS YOU WILL BRING
Extensive Experience in Buying: Proven experience in a senior buying or development role within the food industry, and a strong commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing practices, with a passion for high-quality organic and traceable products.
In-Depth Product Knowledge: A broad understanding of food trends and customer preferences within the luxury and organic food market is a plus.
Communication & Stakeholder Management: Experienced in leading projects and managing stakeholders at all levels. Will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners, providing clear direction and inspiring confidence.
Commercial Acumen: Strong financial and commercial skills, with the ability to manage margins, pricing, and cost efficiencies while maintaining the quality and integrity of the product range. Experience in managing product categories for an omni-channel business would be preferable.
Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships, ensuring competitive pricing, quality assurance, and consistent supply.
Attention to Detail: A keen eye for quality, product presentation and merchandising to create inspiring, easy-to-shop displays as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
