ABOUT THE ROLE
As Distribution Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless movement of products across the Bamford Collection. Reporting into the Supply Chain function, you will oversee the end-to-end distribution process, ensuring goods are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in line with our high standards.
Leading a team of distribution coordinators, you will foster a collaborative, high-performing environment while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to optimise logistics operations, resolve challenges, and enhance service delivery across the network.
This is a key role for a proactive and solutions-focused leader who can balance day-to-day operational management with strategic improvements to support the continued growth of the Bamford Collection.
This is a fulltime role 40 hours per week and based at the Daylesford Farm office 5 days a week.
£40,000 - £45,000 per annum.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead internal logistics initiatives and projects, driving process improvements, cost savings, and service enhancements across the organisation.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and communication to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance overall operational performance.
Provide guidance and support to internal teams on logistics-related matters, including transportation planning, inventory management, and order fulfilment.
Develop and implement logistics strategies and processes to optimise efficiency and minimise costs.
Management of the escalation process into retail and other business units that affect supply.
Oversee the planning and execution of distribution activities, including order processing, picking, and shipping, to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
Develop and maintain relationships with distribution partners, such as carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers, to ensure reliable and cost-effective transportation services.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, such as transportation safety regulations, customs regulations, and environmental regulations, throughout the distribution process.
Lead distribution-related projects and initiatives, such as network optimisation, process reengineering, and facility.
SKILLS YOU WILL BRING
Strong communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, logistics partners, and external stakeholders.
KPI-driven mindset: Proven experience working in a performance-focused environment, monitoring operational metrics and using data to drive continuous improvement.
Advanced MS Excel skills: Confident using Excel to analyse data, produce reports, track KPIs, and support operational decision-making.
Planning and organisation: Highly organised with the ability to coordinate multiple distribution activities, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines.
Team collaboration: Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and support a high-performing team culture.
Attention to detail: Maintains a high level of accuracy across reporting, order management, and operational processes.
Problem-solving ability: Proactive and solutions-focused, able to identify challenges and implement effective operational improvements.
Customer service focus: Understands the importance of service delivery and works to ensure a positive experience for both internal and external customers.
Time management: Able to manage competing priorities efficiently while maintaining high standards and meeting operational timelines.
