ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant for a 6-month fixed term contract with a knack for numbers and a passion for keeping financial operations running smoothly.
Confident to take charge of invoicing, payments, and reconciliations, ensuring the smooth flow of financial transactions across the business.
You will play a key role in managing customer payments and maintaining the integrity of our financial records. You'll be at the heart of our accounting operations, helping to ensure the business runs like clockwork. You'll also work closely with the wider finance team to support bank reconciliations and cash receipt checks across the business.
This role is full time, 40 hours and based in Kingham, Oxfordshire, 5 days in the office.
Salary £30,000 - £35,000 per annum.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as first point of contact between the business with the JCB based Accounts Payable team ensuring prompt and efficient resolution of any queries that prevent AP from posting supplier invoices.
Support the AP team with the completion of new supplier forms and onboarding of new suppliers onto Sage and maintenance of supplier data for existing suppliers.
Support with more complex supplier statement reconciliations
Support the AP to reduce debit balances by ensuring prompt posting of invoices against any direct debit or proforma payments
Preparation of daily, weekly and monthly performance KPI’s for the AP team
To help identify areas of potential process improvement within the AP process
Responsible for the completion of all required returns for the Office of National Statistics
Responsible for ensuring compliance with routine filing requirements for Companies House
Assist in the preparation of and collation of data to support external financial audits
Responsible for preparing weekly and monthly KPI reports covering performance across all areas of finance
Administrator for the Docuware software ensuring requests for approval amendments are made in the system to allow efficient invoice approval and therefore supporting prompt payment of supplier invoices
Assist in the production of daily, weekly and monthly cashflow statements
Assist in the completion of monthly reconciliations for certain balance sheet accounts
To provide a basic level of support and cover for other roles within finance as needed
SKILLS YOU WILL BRING
A minimum of 3 years’ experience working within a finance department with hands on experience of working as part of an AP team.
Experience of working in a multi-site business ideally within retail or hospitality.
A natural problem solver who enjoys “getting things done” and “making things better”.
Prefers a varied role with a mix of good mix of defined daily/weekly processes and ad hoc tasks where no twos are the same.
Demonstrates a commitment to collaborative cross-functional working.
Excellent verbal communication skills who enjoy working with both finance and non-finance colleagues.
Ideally AAT qualification or CIMA/ACCA part-qualified.
Experience of Sage 200 advantageous.
Intermediate excel skills.
