SALARY: £13.95 per hour- Paid Weekly
HOURS: Full-time, 45 hours per week
This is a Monday-Friday role, 45 hours across 5 shifts, shifts worked between the hours of 5:00 and 16:30
ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you passionate about quality, leadership, and artisanal food production? As a Production Supervisor in our Black Barn team, you’ll play a pivotal role in crafting exceptional hand-cooked products using the finest organic ingredients—many sourced directly from our own farm and abattoir.
A Production Supervisor is responsible for either supervising a dedicated sub-department within a production unit in packaging, carrying out production duties to the highest possible standards, as well as ensuring that Production Assistants under your supervision fulfil their own roles to the required standards. You’ll guide and support Production Assistants, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
With more than 30,000 units produced weekly, this is a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship are key. From farm to fork, your work will help deliver delicious, ethically sourced products that our customers love.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Excellence
- Oversee the packaging and dispatch of all products as per company specifications.
- Ensure that all packaging and dispatch duties are completed in a timely and professional manner.
- Supervise the team in ensuring that all duties are carried out with care and diligence to guarantee the production of a consistently high standard of product.
- Ensure that all packaging components are prepared in advance, and accounted for in the required quantities, ready to meet the daily production requirements.
- Oversee product execution to meet company specifications and award-winning standards.
- Maintain compliance with Soil Association organic standards and audit requirements.
- Minimise waste and ensure efficient fulfilment of daily production targets.
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise and support Production Assistants, ensuring diligence and consistency.
- Promote correct procedures for due diligence and traceability.
- Assist in team development, motivating colleagues and nurturing future supervisors.
- Lead by example as a Daylesford Organic ambassador, fostering collaboration and dedication.
- Support the Production Unit Manager in achieving financial and budgetary targets.
